ACP Injections

Autologous Conditioned Plasma (ACP) Injections reduce the appearance of wrinkles, fine lines & acne scars using the patient’s platelets. The ACP contains three to five times the concentration of growth factors compared to normal human blood; this helps to increase the body’s collagen and elastin production. Increasing collagen and elastin gives the skin a more youthful and radiant appearance. ACP Injections are perfect for patients who want a natural way to remove deep wrinkles and rejuvenate the face without using fillers. Expect a smoother appearance overall, with fine lines and wrinkles almost airbrushed away. Many patients opt for this treatment over filler since the therapy uses the body’s cells.

ACP Injections are a minimally invasive treatment that can be done in the office with little to no downtime. ACP injections have been around since the ’70s. However, it wasn’t until the ’90s that the medical community used the method to treat aging skin. The procedure uses a small amount of your blood, around 15mL, which is placed in a centrifuge. This machine spins the blood, so the plasma and platelets are separated from the other blood cells. The plasma is then injected into the areas of your skin that need treatment; this is also known as Platelet Rich Plasma therapy or PRP.

PRP uses your body’s cells to heal and rejuvenate the skin. Platelets can heal and regenerate cells in your body, so when injected into your face, the ACP serum kick-starts natural collagen production and helps to regenerate new cells.

The platelets in your blood contain growth factors, which help to promote healing and tissue regeneration. When these growth factors are injected into the skin, they help to stimulate collagen and elastin production; this gives the skin a more youthful appearance and can help to reduce the appearance of imperfections.

Platelets are small, disc-shaped cells that circulate in the blood and play an essential role in clotting. They are part of the body’s natural healing process and help to repair damage to blood vessels. When injected into the skin, platelets release growth factors that act through the stimulation of routine healing, only faster.

Growth factors are proteins important to the growth and repair of cells. They help to stimulate cell proliferation and promote healing. When injected into the skin, growth factors help to stimulate collagen and elastin production, giving the skin a more youthful glow. Collagen is a protein that helps to keep the skin looking plump and smooth. Elastin is a protein that helps to keep the skin looking firm yet supple.

With age, our skin begins to thin and lose its elasticity due to a natural decrease in collagen and elastin production – it happens to us all. Collagen is a protein that gives the skin strength, while elastin helps the skin retain its shape. A decrease in these proteins can lead to the following:

  • Wrinkles
  • Fine Lines
  • Sagging Skin
  • Dehydrated Skin

The connecting tissue in the skin also weakens with age, which leads to a loss of support.

Sun exposure is one of the main factors that accelerate the aging process. Ultraviolet (UV) rays from the sun damage the collagen and elastin in the skin, causing them to break down; this leads to a decrease in the skin’s ability to repair itself and can cause premature aging.

Other factors that can contribute to skin aging include smoking, poor diet, and lack of sleep. These habits can all contribute to aged, tired-looking skin.

Autologous Conditioned Plasma Injections are a new and exciting treatment option that can help restore that youthful glow. ACP treatment is based on the science of platelet-rich plasma (PRP) therapy. PRP is a concentration of platelets and growth factors derived from your blood. By using your own blood, there is almost no risk of an allergic reaction or rejection.

When injected into the skin, PRP can help stimulate collagen production and promote healing. PRP therapy was first used in the medical field to help speed up the healing process for patients who had undergone surgery. However, over the years, researchers have discovered that PRP can also improve the appearance of the skin. In clinical trials, patients saw a noticeable difference in skin quality after just a few treatment sessions. ACP treatment is usually performed in three or four sessions, about four to six weeks apart.

If you are looking for a safe and effective way to turn back the clock, ACP injections may be right. Contact our office today to learn more about this exciting new treatment option. Call (561) 330-9444 and we will be in touch shortly.

Ideal candidates for ACP injections are generally healthy adults who are looking to improve the look of their skin. ACP injections can be used to treat many common signs of aging. Autologous conditioned plasma (ACP) injections are a popular treatment for increasing a youthful appearance and improving skin health. However, there are some risks involved with this procedure.

The most common side effect of ACP injections is bruising or swelling at the injection site; this typically goes away within a few days. Overall, the risks of other potential side effects are very low. Only a qualified medical professional should perform ACP injections.

If you have a specific skin condition that you want to treat with ACP injections, discuss this with Dr. Mylissa beforehand.

You should not have PRP therapy if you have the following:

Before receiving your ACP injection, you will need to prepare for treatment. Below are a few critical guidelines Dr. Mylissa would like you to adhere to leading up to your ACP injection.

  1. Avoid drinking alcohol for at least 48 hours before the procedure and two days following treatment.
  2. Do not take aspirin or aspirin-related medications such as nonsteroidal anti-inflammatory drugs for two weeks before treatment.

By preparing for the treatment in advance and working with our knowledgeable team, you can ensure that the procedure goes smoothly and that you get the best possible results.

The process of injecting ACP is fast and easy.

  1. Blood is collected an hour before your scheduled ACP injection, and the platelet-rich plasma is concentrated in a centrifuge.
  2. The plasma will then be mixed with a unique solution called thrombin that helps it clot.
  3. Once the platelet-rich plasma has been mixed with thrombin, it is ready to be injected.
  4. The skin will be cleansed, and the injection site will be numbed with a local anesthetic.
  5. The injection process takes only a few minutes and causes minimal discomfort.

After the injection, you may experience some redness, swelling, or bruising at the injection site. These side effects are typically mild and resolve independently within a few days. Patients should avoid strenuous activity for the remainder of the day of their treatment to reduce the risk of bruising. However, there is no downtime, so patients can return to normal activities the next day.

Treatment results with autologous conditioned plasma injections can be seen within a few weeks. Most patients will see a noticeable improvement in the appearance of their skin after just one treatment. However, some patients may require multiple treatments to achieve desired results. Maintenance treatments may also be necessary to maintain results over time. ACP injections are usually given once a week for three to five weeks. Some patients may need additional injections if their condition does not improve.

After receiving ACP injections, patients should avoid exposing the treated area to sunlight or any other UV light source for at least 24 hours. It is also important to clean the treated area gently with soap and water and to apply sunscreen with an SPF of 30 or higher. Patients may experience bruising, redness, and swelling at the injection site, but these side effects typically resolve within a few days. It is important to avoid strenuous activity or rubbing the treated area for at least 24 hours after the injections. Contact our office if you experience any severe side effects or if the side effects do not resolve within a few days.

ACP injections can be an effective way to improve the appearance of the skin. The treatments can help to reduce the appearance of wrinkles, fine lines, and other signs of aging. ACP injections can also help improve the skin’s texture and tone. The results of ACP injections can last for several months, but they are not permanent. To maintain the treatment results, patients should receive follow-up injections every three to six months. Patients may need more frequent injections if they have a history of rapidly aging skin or have experienced extensive sun exposure. Talk with Dr. Mylissa about the best course of treatment for your skin.

Autologous conditioned plasma injections are often used with microneedling treatments because the two procedures can provide complementary benefits. For example, microneedling can help to improve the appearance of scars and other skin imperfections by stimulating collagen production. Microneedling is also thought to enhance the absorption of topically applied products. On the other hand, autologous conditioned plasma injections can help improve the skin’s overall health because autologous conditioned plasma is rich in nutrients that can promote healing and healthy skin cell turnover. Injecting autologous plasma can also reduce inflammation.

The cost of your treatment will be disclosed once your consultation is complete and a treatment course established. Better skin awaits. Don’t delay – call Dr. Mylissa’s Medical Boutique today! Call our knowledgeable staff to find out more about ACP injections at (561) 330-9444
