HOW HIFEM BUILDS MUSCLES

In the world of aesthetic procedures, building stronger muscles is often overlooked for ridding the body of unwanted fat. HOW RADIO-FREQUENCY BURNS FAT

Wedged between the muscle and the skin rests a blanket of subcutaneous fat. Unlike other types of fat, like visceral fat, subcutaneous fat is oftentimes unwavering in changes to diet and exercise. Even after the body has burned most of its adipose storage, it is reluctant to shed its subcutaneous fat. This reluctance is because subcutaneous fat helps the body regulate heat loss, stop the spread of dermal infection, and protect vital organs from external pressures. HOW EMSCULPT NEO WORKS

Unlike its predecessor, Emsculpt NEO combines the power of HIFEM and radiofrequency energy to better tone, define, and strengthen your muscles. PREPARATION

Since Emsculpt NEO is an easy, non-invasive procedure, preparation is fairly minimal. We do recommend our patients to come with a fairly empty stomach because the HIFEM pulses may feel more uncomfortable if you’ve recently eaten. Because no anesthesia is used, you will be able to walk out of our offices under your own power and jump straight back into your schedule.

PROCEDURE

The Emsculpt NEO device is an adjustable applicator that attaches directly to your skin. Patients can change the HIFEM or thermal power to maximal comfort and effectiveness. Over the next 30 minutes, the targeted muscles will feel warm and tight. The tightness is similar to the “burn” you feel when you’re exercising. If it becomes too uncomfortable, switch the dial to a lower setting or let one of our staff members know. After 30 minutes, you will be able to leave or have another area treated. We space four treatments out by a week to make sure the muscle fibers have the appropriate time to heal.

ANOTHER WAY TO LOSE FAT: COOLSCULPTING

For those interested in losing fat, there’s another way to flatten and shrink subcutaneous fat cells–and it’s quite the opposite of Emsculpt NEO. With CoolSculpting, fat cells are plunged to sub-freezing temperatures and held there. At these low temperatures (much like at the high temperatures with Emsculpt NEO), the fat cells are unable to keep their cellular integrity and release from their connective tissue. Over time, the body absorbs and releases the fat cells, leaving behind slimmer, more toned contours!
